Victoria's Vapor Lounge, Lake City FL
It's a hike, but a doable vape shop for truckers.
Let me start off by saying this is the furthest I will send you drivers hiking for vape supplies. This shop comes in at exactly 1 mile from the closest truck parking. Furthermore, it is a couple of miles off of the freeway. If you need supplies, no biggie. If you're into fitness as well, perhaps that is a plus. That being said, if you're in a hurry this is far from our most convenient listing in the directory. That being said, I really do like this little vape shop. Is it worth the effort that it takes to get there? Stay tuned.
One of the things you have to keep in mind when you do what I do is that there are a lot of factors in play for vape shop owners. State and local taxes have bearing on pricing, the size of the community (both local population and percentage of vapers) has a bearing on what they can afford to stock, and convenience for local customers (and probably rent rates) have a big impact on where the shop is located. However, I have to forget all of that and address these reviews as if every customer is a trucker since that is who I am catering to. I point this out because if you're a local resident or you're passing through in a car, by all means check this shop out. They're good people with good stuff. If you're a trucker who has to park and walk to the place, you face a different set of challenges. First, let's deal with getting there.
From Interstate 10, take exit 303 and head south on U.S. 41. You're going to travel south for about 2.5 miles until you see an S&S Food Stores on your left hand side (Dollar General on your right). The S&S is where you need to park, so go to the traffic light which is FL 100A and turn left. Go to the end of the shop and pull in the half moon driveway what goes around the back of the shop. You can park in that driveway along the tree line. When you're ready to leave, you follow the driveway back around to US 441 and back up to the big road.
Still with me? Than you don't mind the couple mile drive off the freeway. Now.. get ready to walk. Cross US 441 and walk south on the other side of the road for about 9/10ths of a mile. Turn right on Madison, and they are right there under the last green awning on the right hand side of Madison. Yes, it's a bit of a hike, especially in the heat of a Florida summer day, but it is what it is. Trucks are restricted downtown so that's the best we can do.
Not a deal breaker? Good. Let's talk about what they have. Victoria's Vapor Lounge takes one of the most unique approaches to presenting their e-liquids that I've ever seen. They have menus you can read at the shop, or take with you Chinese takeout style. You vapers that complain about not being able to find high nic liquids are going to love this. They divide their menu by flavor chasers and cloud chasers. In keeping with this attention to detail, I will list the liquids in the same manner, and explain what the listings mean to you.
Flavor Chasers:
These are the liquids that offer higher nicotine levels. While it varies by brand, most of these liquids are available at least as high as 12mg of nicotine, and some as high as 24mg, with the average topping out at 18mg. These are liquids with 75%vg or lower, and they are also available in low or zero nic levels.
- Vape Wild (12 mg max)
- Old Fashioned Elixer (18 mg max)
- Victoria's Fixer Elixer (24 mg max)
- NicQuid (24 mg max)
- Bomb Sauce (12 mg max)
- Cyclops Vapor (12 mg max)
- Truth Serum (12 mg max)
- WFFL (12 mg max)
- Jam Monster (6 mg max)
- No Hype (6 mg max)
- Cinnagoo (6 mg max)
- Skwezed (6 mg max)
Now perhaps you're a cloud chaser thinking "wait a second, I vape some of those" I concur. Some of the higher vg selections in there work for your cloud pursuits as well, so there is some crossover appeal. And perhaps you're a flavor chaser who builds, in which case some of the following liquids will appeal to you as well. The point of the above liquids is that they will all work in your flavor tanks like the Nautilus and... yeah, like the Nautilus. lol. I won't pretend to be a flavor chaser and up on all of the latest greatest in that department, but you get the idea.
Cloud Chasers:
Now we're back in my ballpark. If you build, or you use sub ohm tanks that wick heavy juices, these are for you. All of these are available in a max of 6mg of nicotine, and they are all 80% vg or higher.
- Fairy Fire Vapor Company
- Reserved Premium E-Juice
- Yogi
- Doc Brown's Private Stock
Don't you love how they do that? And let me assure you, they treat customer service with the same attention to detail that they give to their liquid presentation.
Now, on to the device selection. Here, things get a little thin. This goes back to the point about demographics and other local factors I brought up earlier. I'm sure there is a reason they are a little light on stock, but for truckers who have options (and a mile walk) it needs to be said. I would like to see both more selection in available devices and available colors in devices than what they have, but it is what it is.
Gear:
- Coil Master
- Sigelei
- Desire
- Vandy Vape
- Smok
- Pioneer 4u
- Efest
- Nitecore
- Aspire
- JoyeTech
- Eleaf
- Innokin
- Ikonn
- Ipower
So a little light on the hardware selections, but other than that how are they? The sales staff was extremely friendly and attentive to customers needs. I like to sit back a little and pay attention to the service people get while I'm there, and it was closing time on a Friday so they were busy. They gave great service to everyone, and I was really impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the care they took to help their customers find what they wanted. I would highly recommend this shop based on that alone. They also have a nice vape lounge if you want to build something or hang out in the A/C after your long walk down from S&S. It's a really nice shop here.
All of that being said, the factors that affect us as truck drivers are what they are. It is a long walk in an often brutal climate. The truck parking is at more of a fuel stop than a truck stop, so there aren't the best of amenities if you need to incorporate your vape shopping into your 10 hour break, and their selection of devices is limited if you are looking for a great new setup. So is it worth the walk? I really like this place and a mile isn't a huge deal for me, so I say yes. However, that's a decision you'll have to make for yourself next time you're in Lake City Florida and considering stopping by Victoria's Vapor Lounge.
