El Cabron Mod by CompVape

Written by Steve Parry on Friday, 04 December 2015. Views: 8179 Posted in Intermediate, Advanced

The new aluminum version.

You have probably seen a couple versions of this mod before. It has been released in wooden versions before, but finally the metal version of this mod is released to the public by CompVape. I had my chance to get my hands on one of these before they were officially released, so I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and it is time I finally get my review of this device posted. This is a dual parallel 18650 (mostly) mechanical box mod. It is, of course, unregulated and will perform as well as the batteries that you put in it. I have the solid black version serial #268 which will be used for the purpose of this review. (See video and pictures below)

Smok VCT Pro Review

Written by Steve Parry on Monday, 29 June 2015. Views: 6632 Posted in Intermediate

The latest sub ohm tank from Smok.

It seems like everyone is coming out with sub ohm tanks these days, and this is the latest one from the folks over at Smoktech. The great thing about these devices is that they offer new vapers the ability to to get a high quality vape like the seasoned veterans get without having to go through the process of learning how to wrap coils and rebuild atomizers. While there are some safety concerns that require the user to be properly informed before using these devices, they are pretty much a plug-and-go solution for cloud chasing while still keeping a focus on the flavor of the vape. This particular device was sent to me free of charge for the purposes of this review by the folks over at GearBest.

iTaste MVP 2.0 Review

Time to step up from those eGos.

iTaste MVP 2.0 Review

At some point in time, most vapers have owned an eGo or an Evod. Chances are they will advance to a twist or a spinner. While these are a step up, there are still some serious limitations to these devices. If you find yourself at this point and you are ready to move on, the iTaste MVP is a reasonably priced option that you might want to look into. Recently I won one of these devices in a contest over at Dirty Heathens, so I decided to do a quick review on it to get a feel for what it is all about and see if it is the next logical step in vaping. With both variable voltage and variable wattage, it has what most vapers are looking for in a device, but is it worth the money? First let's look at the specs on this device.

EonSmoke Eternity Kit Review

Written by Steve Parry on Saturday, 01 March 2014. Views: 27602 Posted in Intermediate

EonSmoke goes refillable.

EonSmoke Eternity Kit Review

Awhile back the folks over at EonSmoke asked me to review their 808 starter kit and disposable e-cigs. Since I started out with a similar kit myself I was happy to do the review. Recently they came back for another round asking me to review their new line of e-liquids. While I was happy to do so, I was unaware that they had come out with a new starter kit to go with these liquids. They included an EonSmoke Eternity kit in the package they sent me, so we will take a look at this new kit and 5 flavors from their new line of e-liquids in this review. The kit includes 1 battery, a clearomizer, and a charger. This sure beats the hell out of refilling cartomizers so let's take a look at it.

Stigx Electronic Cigarette Review

Written by Steve Parry on Thursday, 27 February 2014. Views: 15924 Posted in Intermediate

A very solid starter kit that is sure to please.

Stigx Electronic Cigarette Review

This electronic cigarette was sent to me by the folks over at Stigx. They are a company based out of the Netherlands and offer a line of eliquids and the electronic cigarette featured in this review. They advertise free shipping on all orders over $25 (I'm not sure that that applies to international shipments) and from my experience, their shipping time to the U.S. is about 5 days. The e-cig is available in black, silver, and white and the one sent to me for purposes of review is the white model. The clearomizer is eGo threaded and will not work with a standard 510 connection but the battery has both eGo and 510 threading, so standard 510 threaded devices will work with the battery.

Indigo Vapor E-Liquid Review

The Duke, Uncle Cutty, and Duchess tobacco flavors.

Indigo Vapor E-Liquid Review

I bumped into the folks over at Indigo Vapor when I signed up over at Nu-Vapor forums and decided to give their liquids a try. Here are two flavors that I have been vaping and enjoying, and a new flavor that they recently introduced and sent me a sample of. Before we look at the flavors it is worth noting that Indigo processes and ships out orders quickly for a juice company, usually having them shipped out the day after you order. Most of the companies I order from are made to order and take anywhere from days to weeks to ship, so it is nice to have a vendor in there that you can order from in the clutch and get the juice within a week and still have solid flavors.

Phiniac Tanks Review and How To

Phiniac tanks. They work as good as they look.

Phiniac Tanks Review and How To

In the world of carto tanks there are plenty of options to choose from. I've noticed recently that even the folks over at House of Hybrids (makers of Zenesis) have gotten in on the action with the Zenesis Carto Tank Hybrid. But what separates a great tank from a piece of junk? First, it needs to be made from a material that won't break down in your liquid altering the flavor of your juice and leading to eventual cracking in your tank. It also needs to form a tight seal both around the cartomizer and the tank tube. But to be a great tank, it also needs to look good. Phiniac has mastered the art of making a great tank that performs well and looks great on your device. Let's take a look at the features.

The Eyebox by Nic Balz

A great little decorative box mod.

The Eyebox by Nic Balz

I bumped into these mods in a forum conversation and went over to the eyebox group on facebook to check them out. I wasn't necessarily expecting to get one, but when I saw the Eyebox 79 (pictured below) I had to get it. This is a simple box mod with a horn switch on the side to fire it. There is no variable voltage or wattage or anything else to it. This particular box takes a single 18650 battery (protected battery recommended, but pictured with an IMR), but he has other boxes available in different sizes to take 18350 or 18490 batteries. He also does custom orders so you would have to check with him to see if he can build one to the dimensions for a different battery size if that is what you want.

Vermillion River E Juice Mystic Cherry Jr

A nice cherry flavor from the folks at Vermillion River

Vermillion River E Juice Mystic Cherry Jr
Cherry juice in a Big Daddy Tank. A good day in Texas.

At some point you begin to run out of new things to try at your local vape shop, so I decided to check out a couple of flavors from Vermillion River E-Juice on my latest trip to Indy Vapor Shop. Cherry is always a nice flavor, and from my personal experience in making e-liquids at home in the meth lab, it's not a hard flavor to make. That having been said, no flavor is easy to make well. Cherry just tends to be a forgiving flavor. It is easy to judge a vendor by their cherry because cheap cherry has the tell tale signs. It also being popular, if a company doesn't care about their cherry flavor, then they probably don't do very well on any of them. So... how does Vermillion River Mystic Cherry Jr stack up?

BOLT Into The New Year

on Tuesday, 20 November 2012. Views: 149694 Posted in Intermediate

We're giving away a Smoktech Bolt to help you start vaping right in 2013.

BOLT Into The New Year

One of the most common frustrations of people who are attempting to switch from analog cigarettes to the electronic ones is battery life. Unless you have a passthrough or a personal charging case, it can be difficult to keep a fresh battery around when you are on the go. And of course, if you run out of batteries when you are out and about, you will be very tempted to stop and pick up a pack of smokes. Recently, I was able to get one heck of a deal on a Smoktech Bolt, and since I already have my preferred vaping devices, I decided to pass it along to one of our lucky readers. If you are a vaper that is frustrated with short battery life, than perhaps this is the device for you.

Volt CE3 Cartomizer

on Monday, 24 September 2012. Views: 45600 Posted in Intermediate, Reviews

The perfect bottom coil clearo for your 808 batteries.

Volt CE3 Cartomizer

These come in a 5 pack for around $10, and are available here at Smokeless Image. They are reusable, cleanable, and work well without burning even on the V2 battery which is 4.2 volts. They come with a filling syringe and a stupid drip tip that I threw in my neighbors garbage so nobody would think I had owned such a thing. Not to worry though, they also have a little flat tip for them, and if that doesn't suit your style than your 501 tips will fit it as well.
