The AGA TD Dual Coil Rebuildable Atomizer
This is the beast of the AGA family.

First off let me start out by thanking the people over at My Vapor Store for this awesome atomizer. This wasn't sent to me for the purpose of a review but I did receive it free of charge. I had recently purchased the AGA T2 from the same place, and I make a helluva lot of purchases from them as they supply most of the things I need. So when I ordered my ProTank II from them I explained how I was "back door" dual coiling my T2 and would they be so kind as to comp me the TD? It never hurts to ask, right? They replied by thanking me for being a loyal customer and they informed me that they had added one to my order at no charge. So now that it is here, let's review it.
The AGA TD is a dual coil atomizer with a 2 ml glass tank. It is made out of stainless steel, and is threaded for a 510 connector. It is rebuildable using stainless steel mesh or silica wick. It has a sealed connector, and air flow is provided by air holes on the cap that need to be lined up with the air holes in the inner rim of the top cap.
This device should be purchased only by users who intend to dual coil it. The two holes for wicking material are not threaded for a screw and thus cannot be plugged off to prevent leakage without some type of modification.
I prefer to use this device with silica wicks, and in the video below I show how I build my wicks. I will give you the basics here, the video shows it actually being done.
- Measure your wicks against the center post. Using a 3mm wick, run it from the base of the post to the top cap, then fold it over and cut it.
- Once your wicks are prepared, wrap your coil around a screw of your desired size for your coils.
- Bend a short piece of wire into a "V" shape and place the wick into the bend right at the middle of the wick.
- Use the wire to pull the wick up through the hole in the bottom of the top cap, then pull the wick through the coil that you will be using.
- Repeat the process on the other side.
This will give you a double strand of 3 mm wick on both sides that reaches to the bottom of the tank. It leaves just enough room for feeding the liquid through the hole and prevents a lot of the leaking that typically comes from using silica in this style tank.
How does it work?
Flawlessly. I love the new design for the air holes. I know some of you won't because it makes it harder to modify. For those of you who like very airy draw, there is limited room for drilling out the holes in the inner lip. Once you have done that, you would also need to drill out the corresponding holes in the cap. So why do I like it? The large holes in the cap are perfect for me. The small holes are about the size of those on the IGO W, so they will be great for those of you who like a tighter draw. All around, I think it is a big improvement on older versions of this atomizer.
The dual coil feature on this atomizer is awesome. The setup for the wicks and coils is the same as on older versions only duplicated. For those of you who like myself were dual coiling older versions, this is huge. On the older ones we had to use a screw hole for a wick which meant you pretty much had to use mesh and the wick had to be pretty thin to fit through. This meant you had to use screw holes for both wicks to keep the coils sized the same, and to keep from needing a long connection from a ground screw to a coil. Problem totally solved here.
The tank is a bit small. If there were anything bad to say about this that would be it. Two mils can be vaped out rather quickly with a .8 ohm dual coil setup. That having been said, a larger tank would make the device taller and heavier so I think the 2 ml tank is an acceptable compromise.
The price on this device is very affordable. It comes with the device, an extra screw, an extra center post insulator, some O rings, and some mesh for wicks. All of this for just $27.95. And don't forget to friend MyVaporStore on facebook to get their current discount codes. I'll start you out here with October 2013 code which will save you an additional 10%. It is "JO23BT9".
Final Thoughts:
The AGA TD is an awesome rebuildable atomizer. This is the device I have been looking for for a long time. It hits hard, it holds enough juice, and it is a moderately easy build. The vapor production is great, and the throat hit is unbeatable. This device will give you max performance from your favorite liquid. For those of you who do micro coils and mesh, this will make the device compatible with many of your regulated mods. I highly recommend this device to anyone who is a fan of dual coils like myself. You can't go wrong with the AGA TD.
