A6 Atomizer Review
A tiny dripper that packs a big punch.

I've had this one sitting around for awhile and I finally decided to post something on it. This is a tricky little atomizer to talk about because it has some good points and some bad points, and it's upside is also it's downside. We'll get to that in a minute here, but first off let's get to what it is. It is a tiny little dripping atomizer that is set up for dual coils. It has 3 posts (one positive and two negative) and dual air holes in the cap. The air holes are a little small, but as I have done here they can be easily drilled out. The atomizer is available in Stainless Steel (the one used in this review) or aluminum. It is basically the diameter of an eGo battery at 14.25 mm.
The price point on this atomizer is very good. I paid $16.99 for it from Avid Vaper and the aluminum version comes in at $15.99. It's a very affordable atomizer, but is it worth the money?
First off, let's be clear that this is unlikely to be your go to dripper. It is tiny. That having been said, it's size is what makes it great and what makes it frustrating.
The Downside
- The size makes the atomizer a little difficult to build.
- The tiny posts restrict the size of the post holes making duals with 28 awg difficult and 26 awg impossible (through the holes).
- The small diameter means the atomizer holds very little liquid, and thus requires refilling after 3-5 hits.
The Upside
- The tiny size makes it very adaptable to many different devices.
- The small diameter means a very reduced chamber, so the vapor off of this atomizer is very concentrated and has a very intense flavor.
The atomizer comes with pre-built coils, but I didn't use those. They would probably be usable if you just wanted a simplistic dripping atomizer for something like an eGo battery, and if that is what you are looking for this is the dripper for you as it is sized perfectly for that. I wanted to use it for a more intense vape on a mech, so I pulled the wicks and coils and built dual coils with 26 awg kanthal for a .25 ohm setup.
When using 26 gauge kanthal, this atomizer needs a couple of adjustments. The 26 gauge will fit through the posts, but it won't fit trough the center post twice for duals. Also, the stock screw in the center post is shorter than the negative screws. To build with 26 gauge, remove the screw from one of the negative posts and swap it out with the screw in the positive post. This will make the center post screw long enough for you to build one of your coils around the top of the screw instead of through the post, and still be able to screw down far enough to get a good ground on the other coil. Once this is done you can have one coil through the posts and the other wired to the top screws and it will perform well.
The vape on this thing is amazing. At .25 ohms it is a very hot vape, so be prepared for that. Much warmer than the same build on an Igo W or a Trident for example. The drip tip that comes with it will be unusable at these low sub ohms. It will get way too hot. I recommend an acrylic drip tip like a cherry vapes, or a longer drip tip that has more surface area to dis purse the heat. Even the vapor coming through a short drip tip on this build is a little too hot for comfort. I used metal drip tips for the video, but I am using a Cherry Ming with it now and it does much better. I can take 3 or 4 long lung hits and it won't heat up to the point of discomfort.
The flavor from this atomizer is the real selling point. I don't have another atomizer that gives off this level of flavor from a liquid. That chamber is so small that it really amplifies the flavor of your liquid and makes it very intense. The small chamber also increases the throat hit on your liquid.
The build quality of this atomizer is good. It is a durable little thing, and the cap fits on the deck pretty well. I have been using to for several months now and I've had no rusting problems or anything. The setup makes it a little challenging to work with, but not so hard that you will get frustrated and give up. The vape you get off of it is amazing and frustrating. You will love the intense, concentrated flavor but you will get frustrated with constantly having to drip. All of that having been said, I really like this atomizer and I am happy to have it in my vape arsenal. If you are looking for an atomizer that will really kick up the flavor of your liquids, than this is a great one for you. Just be prepared to drip... and drip... and drip.
