Recoil Rebel Squonker Review

Written by Steve Parry on Monday, 27 November 2017. Views: 3459 Posted in Reviews, Advanced

Recoil Rebel Converted to a Squonker.

Recoil Rebel Squonker Review

It was a series of unfortunate events that lead me to the discovery that I really like the Recoil Rebel RDA set up as a squonker. I went to my local vape shop and bought a Recoil atomizer and a Recoil Rebel squonk pin. See the trouble there? I did too when I got home. This pin doesn't fit that atomizer. No problem, I went straight back to Doc's Vape Escape in Cookeville Tn and they swapped out my Recoil for a Recoil Rebel. Now I was ready to start squonking with this bad boy... as soon as I got it transferred over to a squonking atomizer and that too turned out to be a bit of a pain in the ass. Just a bit though, nothing crazy. I'm going to take you through the process in pictures here and then tell you what I think of the atomizer.

Mechanical mod with hybrid dripper.

Rig V3 and Roughneck BAMF Review

Let's get this out of the way right here off the bat. If you're a smoker wondering what this vaping thing is all about, this device isn't for you. If you're a new vaper just starting to get into rebuilding, this device is not for you. If you're an advanced vaper experienced in ohms law and battery safety, is this device for you? We're going to take a look at it and find out. What we have here is a 3 piece unit sold as a set. It's a copper mechanical tube mod with a 510 connector for use with atomizers with 510 threading. It also comes with a hybrid dripping atomizer for direct contact with the positivepost of your battery. The mod is called the Rig V3, and the atomizer is called the BAMF Roughneck. What does BAMF stand for? I'll let you figure that out while we take a look at this device.

El Cabron Mod by CompVape

Written by Steve Parry on Friday, 04 December 2015. Views: 7273 Posted in Intermediate, Advanced

The new aluminum version.

You have probably seen a couple versions of this mod before. It has been released in wooden versions before, but finally the metal version of this mod is released to the public by CompVape. I had my chance to get my hands on one of these before they were officially released, so I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and it is time I finally get my review of this device posted. This is a dual parallel 18650 (mostly) mechanical box mod. It is, of course, unregulated and will perform as well as the batteries that you put in it. I have the solid black version serial #268 which will be used for the purpose of this review. (See video and pictures below)

Hellboy Driping Atomizer

Written by Steve Parry on Saturday, 20 June 2015. Views: 3092 Posted in Advanced

Dripping squared.

I happen to have a legit Hellboy that I have had for a couple of months now. Last week I picked up a clone Hellboy from Catfish Atty Mods that was modified to serve as a bottom feeder for my Reo Grand mod. I decided to go ahead and do a review on the legit Hellboy, and as a bonus throw in some comparrisons with the clone. I purchased both of these atomizers, and the opinions expressed about them are my own. Your results and opinions may be different.

OKL T/20 Mod Chip Review

The 3.5 to 5.5 volt 110 chip from Murata Power Solutions.

OKL T/20 Mod Chip Review

There is a lot of confusing and misleading information about mods that are running this chip out there, so I figured I would try to clear the air on this one for you and tell you what I know based on using and researching the mod. I will try to dispel some of the false information, and also clear the air on some of the "protection" features of this chip. This information is based largely on daily use, and in part on me pushing the device to find out what I needed to know to pass the information on to you. It is important to point out that no wicks were burnt during the gathering and dissemination of this information. Fair enough? Good. Let's proceed.

A6 Atomizer Review

on Monday, 05 May 2014. Views: 5151 Posted in Advanced

A tiny dripper that packs a big punch.

A6 Atomizer Review
Tiny atomizer, big attitude.

I've had this one sitting around for awhile and I finally decided to post something on it. This is a tricky little atomizer to talk about because it has some good points and some bad points, and it's upside is also it's downside. We'll get to that in a minute here, but first off let's get to what it is. It is a tiny little dripping atomizer that is set up for dual coils. It has 3 posts (one positive and two negative) and dual air holes in the cap. The air holes are a little small, but as I have done here they can be easily drilled out. The atomizer is available in Stainless Steel (the one used in this review) or aluminum. It is basically the diameter of an eGo battery at 14.25 mm.

The Curvamizer from Nhaler

Incredible new genesis atomizer from Nhaler.

The Curvamizer from Nhaler

I have never hidden the fact that I am not a fan of stainless steel mesh wicks. I do, however, like genesis style atomizers because they work great on the truck since they are not susceptible to leaking from changing elevations. Thus I have tried everything from silica wicks to cotton auto dripper builds trying to get the best performance out of these devices. Every now and then I would build another stainless wick just for shits and giggles but nothing seemed to top the performance I get out of silica wicks. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Curvamizer is a game changer. This build makes mesh wicks so easy, and they perform better than on any other genny that I have. Let's take a closer look at this thing and see why.

The AGA TD Dual Coil Rebuildable Atomizer

Written by Steve Parry on Sunday, 06 October 2013. Views: 31705 Posted in Advanced

This is the beast of the AGA family.

The AGA TD Dual Coil Rebuildable Atomizer

First off let me start out by thanking the people over at My Vapor Store for this awesome atomizer. This wasn't sent to me for the purpose of a review but I did receive it free of charge. I had recently purchased the AGA T2 from the same place, and I make a helluva lot of purchases from them as they supply most of the things I need. So when I ordered my ProTank II from them I explained how I was "back door" dual coiling my T2 and would they be so kind as to comp me the TD? It never hurts to ask, right? They replied by thanking me for being a loyal customer and they informed me that they had added one to my order at no charge. So now that it is here, let's review it.

Helio Dual Coil Dripping Atomizer

Written by Steve Parry on Saturday, 28 September 2013. Views: 29253 Posted in Advanced

Good idea, poor design.

Helio Dual Coil Dripping Atomizer

This atomizer was one I picked up for like $5 at FastTech. It is a dual coil rebuildable dripping atomizer. This means it has 3 posts (2 negative one positive) for building coils. It is made out of stainless steel and it has 3 outer air holes and one inner. It has a 510 connection and is advertised as coming prebuilt with a 1.2 ohm dual coil setup. This would mean it has 2 2.4 ohm coils. Additionally, it comes with a stainless steel drip tip and an allen wrench for the posts.

The Vamo Review

Written by Steve Parry on Sunday, 07 April 2013. Views: 22678 Posted in Advanced

Or "The Bamboo" as it is called where I purchased it.

The Vamo Review
The Vamo, or Bamboo.

A few months back I decided to get the Zmax when the version 2 came out offering the two power modes. When I got that, I started to love my dual coil tanks again because it had the power to push those cartos to full potential. After a few months, the button started to get funky on the Zmax, and I began to worry about the device taking a dump on me while I was out on the road. I still have my Lambo 4.0 but I knew I wouldn't be satisfied with that. I wanted an AnyVape CVI, but due to the recall you couldn't get one. I was reading some good things about the Vamo and I happened to stop by Indy Vapor Shop and they had some in stock, so I picked one up from them (under the name Bamboo).

The V-Unit From Vapow

A great, inexpensive way to jump into the world of variable voltage vaping.

The V-Unit From Vapow

Thought you couldn't get a variable voltage tube mod complete with 2 batteries and a charger shipped to your front door for less than $50? Well, you were wrong. Unless, of course, shipments come to your back door. In that case you were right on a technicality. But you see where I'm going with this, right? I'm talking about the V-Unit from Vapow, the worst named electronic cigarette store on the web with the best price on version 1 lavatubes. You can check it out here on their website, and read my review below or skip straight to my video review at the bottom for those of you who don't like to read.
