Save A Smoker in Ozark Alabama

Huge truck parking and wide selection of e-liquid flavors.

Save A Smoker in Ozark Alabama

If there is a vapor shop out there that can cater to truckers better than Save A Smoker in Ozark Alabama, I am unaware of its existence. This shop is located in a shopping plaza right behind the Waffle King which is right behind the Kangaroo Express. Translation? Their dumpster is in the truck stop parking lot. This is where I got my first eGo style kit. Yes, the prices are a bit high, but from my experience the guy that runs the place will work you a deal.

Baton Rouge Capitol Building

This place is for the birds.

Baton Rouge Capitol Building

I was picking up a load in Baton Rouge this week, and the warehouse where I loaded was right behind the capitol building. It was also about 40 feet from the road, and they wanted me in the dock without blocking the whole road or dropping the trailer, but that's another story. I decided to take some pictures of the Capitol, and when I walked down there to take the pics I saw this bird in a tree and got some pictures of it. The guy that was loading my truck called it a "fish crane" which sounds rather unofficial, but I'll go with that. Either way, here are the pics.

The Vapor Hut in OKC

A vapor shop working with truckers in Oklahoma City, Ok.

The Vapor Hut in OKC

A friend of mine and fellow Prime driver was in Amarillo Texas when he fried his eGo battery. This can be a nightmare for a driver on the road, as it is hard to find a place where one can get a truck in to pick up a replacement. Often when we can find supplies, they are extremely over priced. He told me that he was heading east, and I had heard of The Vapor Hut in Oklahoma City, so I gave him their info. When he got closer, he called to see if they had truck parking near them but they did not. However, here is his account of how the company worked with him.

Volt CE3 Cartomizer

The perfect bottom coil clearo for your 808 batteries.

Volt CE3 Cartomizer

These come in a 5 pack for around $10, and are available here at Smokeless Image. They are reusable, cleanable, and work well without burning even on the V2 battery which is 4.2 volts. They come with a filling syringe and a stupid drip tip that I threw in my neighbors garbage so nobody would think I had owned such a thing. Not to worry though, they also have a little flat tip for them, and if that doesn't suit your style than your 501 tips will fit it as well.

The Queen of the Cow Towns

Dodge City Kansas

It may have made it's name in the days of the wild west, but Dodge City is still alive and well. There's not a meat trucker or bull hauler worth his salt that hasn't made a stop or two in this town. Here are a few pictures I snagged while over there.

Gloucester Mass

A day at the bay.

Gloucester Mass

It's not every day that you get to deliver in such a beautiful location, but I had a load that took me to Gloucester Mass, and this was the scenery outside my passenger window. The dock where I was unloaded was literally right on this beautiful dock, so I walked around and enjoyed this scenery and took these pictures while they unloaded me. The rustic charm of this old New England town is breathtaking, and the smell of the breeze blowing in off of the ocean is so refreshing. I look forward to getting another load back over there, but until that day I have these pictures to remind me.

Smokey And The Bandwidth

A blog about trucking

Smokey And The Bandwidth

I came up with the name Smokey And The Bandwidth awhile back when I was thinking up funny and catchy names for an online community that I was building. I had decided to have a competition to name the site, and this was one of the names that I had come up with that didn't win. I liked the name, however, and after letting it sit for awhile, I decided to put it to good use. As a fan of the movie Smokey and the Bandit, I obviously mean no disrespect. I just think it is a good way to pay homage to the old school trucking while blogging our way forward into the new era.

Trucking across the California Desert

The Desert Rat

I love trucking out west sometimes, and it is a great place to find some very scenic locations to photograph the truck. I took these pictures just east of Barstow at an old truck stop I used to frequent that is now shut down. The dark colors of the desert landscape provide a nice contrast to the bright colors of my truck. These pictures were taken in February of 2012 when I had had the truck for 2 weeks.
