Here's another one that won't fire up to it's max setting. It's a 40 watt mod that will only go up to 37 watts. For some reason I can live with that better with this device though because it does also have TC.

One thing I don't like about this mod is it does not allow you to adjust the wattage in TC setting, only the temp. Thus it will use all 40 watts do get you to the desired temp. I have noticed with the eVic VT that with the stock tank I can limit the amount of TC cutoff I get by lowering the watts. This makes the vape a bit more stable or consistent. To me it is a negative that you can't do that with this device.

That's one thing that confused me about the DNA 40. In TC mode, there's a "power boost" to get the wire up to temperature quicker. Yet it seems to me that you'll just bump into TC cap that much faster.

It would seem so. And even with the eVic it gets up to temp very quickly.

I will say for this mod it is temp control for under $40 bucks so if you were just wanting to try it out this would be a cheap way of doing that. However, you're not really experiencing all of the features if you can't set the wattage in temp mode. One of those things, I guess. Also for my vaping style 40 watts really isn't enough, even in temp mode. With dual coils I'm pretty much maxing out the 60 watts that the VT has to offer.
